CI stands for Chounelleca Initiative. Chounelleca was a beautiful little girl who died in 2015. Her entire family was suffering from a viral illness. After one week her parents and siblings recovered. She remained ill into the second week and subsequently died. Her parents attributed her death to a "Bad Spirit". This is a common way of thinking in Haiti. Had she had access to medicine or care her outcome may have been different. She touched our lives and motivated us to create a health program in the region .  Our efforts are dedicated to her memory.
