

The Medicine Kit
Just finished putting together the medicine kits for the village health care workers. Each one will get a tackle box filled with first aid supplies, scissors, thermometer, stethoscope, gloves, penicillin, mebendazole, tylenol, aspirin, iron, permethrin cream, anti-nausea medication antibiotic eye ointment and a text book . The Village Medical Kit will contain additional medications and supplies and be housed at the school office.
LED PROJECTOR!
One week and counting ! Purchased an LED Projector today for the village. Will be using it for our educational powerpoint presentation . In this village without running water or electricity... I am so thrilled to add this median of learning to the school. Classrooms now have very little resources. I hope the ability to stream educational materials, from a computer or DVD, will really help enhance the overall learning experience. Can't wait to see the faces of the children wh
Doing my Homework
Whew! Just finished composing the 140 slide power point presentation for the training program . No small task given the job of translating the slides into both English and Kreyole. I am sure, in a school without electricity , it will be their first encounter with the power point experience! Hope my old professors at Penn will be proud !
Medications have arrived!
I am looking at over 30 boxes of medications obtained by donation and purchase . We have 700 doses of fluoride varnish, 10 stethoscopes, 12 thermometers, otoscope , glasses, vitamins , deworming medication, multiple antibiotics, pain medications, first aid supplies and topical creams . The cost of supplies was $ 2300.00 .
