          Improving Health by Improving Nutrition.

Bread fruit grows on trees native to Haiti. However due to deforestation there are very few of them left in the mountains. The fruit can be dried and made into a flour for bread and porridge. It is a good source of protein and nutrients. CI Haiti is feeding the 600 school children bread fruit porridge for lunch twice a week in place of rice. We are planting more trees and teaching local women how to bake with the flour. We have built a wood shop to teach locals how to make drying sheds for making bread fruit flour . Creating Sustainablility.
