Hypertension,The Silent Killer

46 % of Haitians suffer from hypertension. It is the highest cause of death in the country and kills more people than cholera,malaria,HIV and TB combined. Many do not know they have the disease. Providing screening is part of our Community Heath Initiative. With the help of these fabulous teens, we set up a screening station after mass and checked blood pressures of more than 300 people. They were given a card to return to a class and recheck the following day if the BP was high.
